executive support for founders and CEOs

The founder should not be the integration layer

When every decision and handoff returns to one person, the business has an operating-model problem disguised as dedication.

Notice what keeps returning

Track the questions, approvals, explanations and follow-ups that find their way back to the founder for two weeks. The pattern is often more useful than the volume. Repeated returns point to missing rules, unclear ownership or knowledge that has never been externalised.

Design routes for ordinary work

Decide what can be handled through a principle, checklist, template, automation or named owner. Reserve founder attention for choices that are genuinely novel, consequential or identity-shaping.

Create confidence, not dependency

Delegation fails when the receiver lacks context or fears the consequence of a reasonable mistake. Better briefs, decision boundaries and review rhythms create more leverage than simply telling people to take ownership.

What to carry into the work

  • Track the work that returns
  • Externalise context and principles
  • Clarify decision boundaries
  • Protect founder attention for consequential choices
